Our client is a market leader in the hotel furniture industry, working with clients such as Hilton, De Vere, Holiday Inn & Crowne Plaza. With a 60,000 sq ft factory just 10 minutes from Leeds City Centre, they make high specification, bespoke hotel furniture. Their ethos is to provide a fun, informal, but highly professional working environment.

Job Purpose

To work collaboratively and independently within the design team to deliver accurate and commercially attractive designs. Coordinate the ideas of our sales team, project managers and your own ideas and research. Work with our client’s customers and project managers to interpret their briefs and produce accurate manufacturing drawings.

Essential skills required:

  • 2+ years Solidworks CAD design experience skills and communication skills, enabling you to translate any brief you are given into a commercially viable product that meets the client’s expectations.
  • Furniture design experience demonstrating the ability to produce accurate, detailed production drawings.
  • You will have a good eye for detail and be able to communicate at all levels.
  • Work well on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Experience working to briefs with tight deadlines
  • Communication skills at all levels
  • Proactive and creative thinker
  • Ability to follow design procedures

Desirable skills required:

  • Contract furniture experience; understanding of furniture production methods and materials
  • Sales presentation design experience
  • Furniture design qualifications

Profile

Job Purpose

As a junior project manager you will be involved in the ongoing development of projects and relationships with clients.

Full training will be provided with the goal of fast tracking you through to a full project management role.

Key responsibilities

  • Creating and tracking information flows both externally and internally
  • Monitor all phases of the projects you are responsible for, promptly addressing any changes to the original scope of services and the impact to the project schedule and budget.
  • Provide and maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project.
  • Maintain all historical data on projects for future learnings
  • Perform related work as required to ensure projects are completed as proposed
  • Communication, follow up and review are key to ensuring projects are delivered in the time frame and to the quality required.

Essential Skills & qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of excel
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail and able to prioritise workload
  • Ambition to learn and progress career
  • Tenacity
  • Minimum 3 A Levels grade C or above
  • A Bachelor’s degree or good professional experience are equally valued
  • A high level of analytical and numerical problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to work in high speed & varied environment
  • Flexible approach & Can-Do attitude.
