A Coastal Refresh at The Quay Hotel & Spa, Conwy

We love seeing our furniture in hotels — especially in locations where the setting does as much of the talking as the interiors.

Set on Deganwy Marina, The Quay Hotel & Spa in Conwy looks out across one of North Wales’ most striking landscapes, with uninterrupted views towards the historic Conwy Castle. As part of a wider refurbishment, 14 of the hotel’s cosy and executive bedrooms were reimagined to better reflect this unique coastal setting.

Curtis was brought in to design, manufacture and install bespoke bedroom furniture for each of the rooms.

 The brief called for contemporary furniture that would feel calm, practical and in keeping with the hotel’s relaxed coastal identity. With the surrounding views playing such a central role in the guest experience, it was important that the furniture complemented the space rather than competed with it. Each piece was designed specifically for the rooms, balancing clean, modern lines with durability and day-to-day functionality.

Every element was carefully considered to ensure consistency across the rooms while still responding to the individual layouts. 

The completed interiors feel fresh, understated and aligned with their surroundings — offering guests a comfortable, modern space to unwind while making the most of the views beyond. Projects like this are a great example of how thoughtful, well-crafted furniture can quietly elevate a space, supporting both the design vision and the overall guest experience.
