Curtis manufactured bespoke furniture for 60 bedrooms at the prestigious St Andrews’ Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa. The hotel remained open throughout its multi-million pound refurbishment which meant that Curtis had to ensure the manufacture process ran smoothly and on time. To avoid the risks of shipping from outside the UK, we wanted to select a British Manufacturer, and Curtis are one of the few with the capacity to supply bespoke case goods for 1,000 rooms over a 12-month project. “Much of a Hotel Indigo’s retelling of their individual neighbourhood story is achieved through design, weaving in local themes and references, thus demanding bespoke, considered solutions rather than standard off-the-peg options. Curtis’ genuine interest in the successful execution of the brief, giving nods to the local goldsmiths, architects and horologists, was both reassuringly productive and also refreshing. The initial expectations from us, the client, did not encompass the flexibility, time and grace that the Curtis team utilised, allowing the successful navigation around the preliminary value engineering and design adaptation demands, nor did we predict the continuation of this additional layer of client support which transpired to be pivotal to dissolving several unexpected hurdles which emerged as the build progressed.”
Curtis recently worked with ourselves on a fast paced 274 bedroom refurbishment in the iconic Hilton Park Lane, London. From initial design stage Curtis provided an efficient service, producing drawings in a timely fashion, and nothing was an issue for them…even though this process ate into the Christmas holiday season!
From the delivery of materials, control of quality and the install process, Curtis once again provided an excellent service, leaving minimal defects or issues. They also proved extremely flexible with their approach, thus allowing us to complete the project 2 weeks in advance of the contracted handover which is a great achievement for all involved.
